Spot gold closed the week at $3,993.96 after touching its lowest since July 20, as oil near $115 a barrel kept Fed rate-hike bets alive and US yields rose back to 5.00%.

Spot gold fell 2.4% to its lowest since early August and December futures settled at $4,060.40 as a five-month high in oil revived Fed hike bets, even though Treasury yields and the dollar fell. Silver lost 5.4%.
