What happened
The ID@Xbox showcase October 2026 edition, streamed with IGN on 20 October, featured 21 titles, according to Xbox Wire's official recap. The surprise was Arctic Eggs from CRITICAL REFLEX, which launched on Xbox Series X|S the same day. Xbox is also testing Cloud Playtime, which streams owned games without Game Pass from $3.99 for 10 hours.
Before the show, only two items were confirmed publicly: Telltale's The Wolf Among Us Remastered and an appearance by publisher CRITICAL REFLEX. Outlets disagreed on the size of the lineup, quoting either 18 or 20 games. Xbox Wire's recap, written by editor Danielle Partis, now settles the question: it lists 21 titles, counting the three CRITICAL REFLEX games in the publisher's montage separately.
The recap does not give the show's running time. It also says "Game Pass" in general terms without naming tiers, so this article does not assume whether a title arrives on Ultimate, PC Game Pass or both.
The surprise launch and the CRITICAL REFLEX montage
The recap promises "a surprise launch". That turned out to be Arctic Eggs, a physics-based frying simulator set in a surreal Antarctic city. Xbox Wire says it is available now on Xbox Series X|S as a purchase and does not list it for Game Pass.
The same montage included two better-known horror titles. Mouthwashing is a psychological horror drama about the surviving crew of a wrecked space freighter. According to the recap, it reaches Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on 29 October 2026, with Game Pass. No, I'm Not a Human is an anxiety thriller in which players question strangers to find shape-shifting impostors. It is listed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One with Game Pass "in 2027". No specific day has been given.
Remasters and re-releases
Three of the most recognisable names in the show are new editions of older games:
- The Wolf Among Us Remastered (Telltale) brings back the Fabletown detective thriller with upgraded visuals, a Noir Mode and restored deleted scenes. Xbox Wire lists it for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One digitally on 29 October 2026. Pre-show coverage also listed PS5 and PC versions.
- Shrek 2 Remastered updates the co-op action-adventure based on the DreamWorks film and adds a Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode. It arrives on Xbox Series X|S on 10 November 2026. Pre-orders are open, and the recap mentions a discount for members rather than Game Pass inclusion.
- ZERO PARADES: Director's Cut from ZA/UM is a definitive edition of its espionage RPG about a burnt-out spy. It adds new story content and full English voice-over, and is listed for Xbox Series X|S and PC on "November 3". The recap does not state the year.

New and returning indies worth noting
Game Pass day-one titles
The recap marks two games as day-one Game Pass releases. Croak is a hand-drawn 2D precision platformer in which a frog prince uses his tongue as a grappling hook to reach a witch's banquet, and it includes online speedrun leaderboards. Red Kiss is a tactical narrative RPG about hunting vampire spies in Cold War Berlin. It is the only title in the show without any release window.
Co-op and online
A Game About Digging a Hole Together is a minimalist co-op game. Friends dig on a beach, sell what they find, upgrade their gear and search for buried treasure. Scramble Knights Online is described as an "MMO-lite" action RPG set in a shared online kingdom, with group quests and dungeons. Both are listed with Game Pass, and Scramble Knights Online is the first of the new announcements to arrive, on 26 October.
Deckbuilders and roguelikes
Card-based design shows up in several titles. Mr. Magpie's Harmless Card Game is a sinister roguelike deckbuilder voiced by Matt Mercer. Drill Keeper combines deckbuilding with fortress and trap building around off-world mining sites. Love is a Roguelite mixes turn-based tactics, deckbuilding and a dating sim with a procedurally generated love story.
Narrative and atmosphere
Rustown, from studio Plotrick, is a story-driven stealth adventure about searching for a missing father in a city of survivors. Graytail is a 2.5D pixel-art mystery about a vanished pilot. The recap spells the title "Greytail" in one place. Magenta Down comes from the creators of Unto The End and is a survival-leaning sci-fi adventure on a hostile exoplanet. Chronoscript: The Endless End moves between a 3D mansion and 2D pen-and-ink worlds. Mr. Records is a music-driven adventure about a record store owner. VANRAN is a dark fantasy action RPG built around climbing giant bosses, and Waveling Island is a cozy creature-collecting sim.
Bigger studios had a busy week too. Square Enix launched its first HD-2D Final Fantasy, covered in our Final Fantasy Resonance launch guide, while footage presented as an internal BioWare trailer for the cancelled next Mass Effect surfaced online a day after EA closed the studio (the Mass Effect trailer leak).
What it means
For Xbox players, the near-term calendar is busy. Up to five titles from the show land between 26 October and 10 November (the recap gives no year for one of them, ZERO PARADES), and at least two of them, Mouthwashing and Scramble Knights Online, come with Game Pass according to Xbox Wire. Most of the newer indie announcements, however, are aimed at 2027 and have only seasonal windows. Small studios often move dates like these.
The lineup also reflects a wider Microsoft pattern. Almost every new title is listed for both Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Xbox Wire says many of them support Xbox Play Anywhere, which lets one purchase run on console and Windows PC. The show also leans on catalogue revivals such as Shrek 2 and The Wolf Among Us alongside new IP. That suggests remasters remain a dependable way to bring attention to indie-focused showcases.
Some details are still open. The recap does not say which Game Pass tiers apply, does not give a year for the ZERO PARADES date and does not name developers for most titles. Readers should check each game's store page for final pricing, tiers and regional availability as launch dates approach.
