   MMX Phobos sample mission explained: landing, rover, 2031 return

   Japan's MMX lifted off on an H3 rocket from Tanegashima and is due to reach Mars in August 2027. The French-German rover Idefix should reach Phobos in 2029, with a landing and sample collection in 2030 and the capsule back in South Australia in 2031.
