This guide sets out what the band and its official ticketing partners have actually confirmed, and what is still unknown.

## The confirmed dates

The tour announcement on U2.com lists six shows across three cities. The band says the tour opens in Mexico City and that Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires are the only Latin American stops on the 2027 itinerary. Anyone hoping for extra cities in the region, such as Rio de Janeiro, Santiago or Bogotá, should not expect them on this leg.

The band describes the shows as stadium concerts with a setlist drawn from its whole catalogue, not just the new record. Beck will open. U2.com says dates for Europe and North America in 2027 will be announced "in the coming weeks" and adds that a return to Ireland is being planned. No dates, cities or venues outside Latin America had been published when this article was written.

## The ticket timeline

Ticketing runs in stages, and the order depends on the city. U2.com and Ticketmaster Brazil give the following schedule, all in local time:

- **Monday 19 October, 10:00:** presale for the U2.com "Feedback" subscriber group.
- **Tuesday 20 October, 10:00:** presale for the U2.com "The Hype" group. According to U2.com, new subscribers join this group. Both U2.com presales close on Wednesday 21 October at 22:00.
- **Wednesday 21 October (São Paulo only):** a Santander cardholder presale, according to Ticketmaster Brazil. It opens online at 10:00 and at the physical box office at 11:00, where no service fee is charged. Santander Select and Private Banking customers have a separate queue.
- **Thursday 22 October, 10:00:** general sale for São Paulo and Buenos Aires, plus a Ticketmaster artist presale for Mexico City. The Mexico City presale required registration by 18 October. In São Paulo, the official box office opens at 11:00.
- **Friday 23 October, 10:00:** general sale for Mexico City.

U2.com says subscribers receive a unique presale code by email. Neither the band nor Ticketmaster has said how many tickets were sold in the presales or how many remain for the general sale.

## São Paulo: prices and rules

For the two MorumBIS shows, Ticketmaster Brazil names itself as the official sales channel. Brazilian outlet DGABC published the price table released on 15 October. Prices are in Brazilian reais. Under Brazilian law, the half-price (*meia-entrada*) rate is available to eligible groups such as students and older people.

| Sector | Half-price (BRL) | Full price (BRL) |
| ------------------------------ | ---------------- | ---------------- |
| Arquibancada (stands) | 345.00 | 690.00 |
| Pista (general floor) | 395.00 | 790.00 |

According to DGABC, the Red Zone price includes access to a standing VIP area next to the side of the stage, separated by barriers. Other details reported for the São Paulo shows:

- **Purchase limit:** up to four tickets per CPF, with no more than two at half price (Ticketmaster Brazil).
- **Instalments:** up to six interest-free instalments for Santander cardholders and up to four for other buyers (Ticketmaster Brazil).
- **Times:** gates open at 16:00 and the show starts at 21:00 (DGABC).
- **Age rating:** 16 and over. Children aged 5 to 15 may attend only with a parent or legal guardian, subject to court rules (DGABC).

DGABC also stresses that Ticketmaster Brazil is the only official channel. Fans should be wary of resale listings and links shared on social media, which are a common route for ticket fraud at high-demand shows.

## The new album: *Carnaval De Luz*

The tour is built around *Carnaval De Luz*, which U2 says will be released on 13 November 2026, the year of the band's 50th anniversary. It is the group's 16th studio album and its first in nine years. U2.com lists 12 tracks, with contributions from Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, Martin Garrix and Ryan Tedder. The track list includes "The Mirror Maker" with Rosalía and "Torn" featuring Dolly Parton.

The title track of the tour, "The Greatest Show On Earth", is out now as the album's third single. U2 and Brian Eno co-wrote it, and Anton Corbijn directed the video in the California desert. "Silencio" was the second single. The band has described the record as "a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums."

The album will be released on deluxe vinyl and CD box sets, coloured vinyl variants, standard CD and vinyl, and as a download. Third Man Records is issuing a yellow vinyl edition for independent record shops.

## Other U2 news this autumn

The band's official news feed lists several other events around the release:

- U2 will headline the halftime show at the NFL's first Thanksgiving Eve game, on Wednesday 25 November, streamed on Netflix.
- MusiCares will honour the band as its 2027 Persons of the Year.
- The Central Bank of Ireland has launched a commemorative coin marking 50 years since the band formed.

## Why Brazil is paying attention

The São Paulo dates will be U2's first concerts in Brazil in a decade. According to DGABC, the band's last visit was in 2017, when it played four sold-out shows in São Paulo and made a separate appearance at Globo's studios in Rio de Janeiro. This week, Google Trends lists "show u2" among the trending searches in Brazil.

Only two São Paulo dates have been confirmed. U2.com has not said whether more Latin American dates will be added. Any extra show would be announced through official channels.

In other music news this week, Raye won the 2026 Mercury Prize for her second album, beating a shortlist that included Paul McCartney ([Raye wins the Mercury Prize](https://bullquill.com/raye-wins-2026-mercury-prize/)), and the LEGO Group announced an official partnership with Daft Punk, starting with a set based on the duo's Alive 2007 pyramid stage ([the LEGO Daft Punk set](https://bullquill.com/lego-daft-punk-partnership-alive-2007-set/)).

## What it means

For fans in Brazil, the key date is Thursday 22 October at 10:00 Brasília time (13:00 UTC), when the general sale opens on Ticketmaster Brazil. Buyers need a CPF, should note the four-ticket limit, and should use only the official channel. In Argentina, the general sale for the River Plate dates opens at the same local time on AllAccess. In Mexico, it opens a day later on Ticketmaster Mexico.

For the wider audience, the Latin American leg is only the first part of the tour. The band has promised European and North American dates soon, and the album arrives on 13 November. Until those announcements are made, any dates circulating for other regions are unconfirmed. Readers should treat them with caution until they appear on U2.com.
